First week

August 6-7, 2018

         My friend I departed from Thailand at 9 p.m. As we couldn’t find the direct flight to Bandung, we had to transit at  Changhi International Airport, Singapore so we gotta waited like 14 hours. Actually, I had so much fun exploring and trying to find a place to sleep in the airport. 

And lucky us, the airport provided a free tour for transit passengers that have to wait more than 5 hours. We joined the tour. The staff took us to many places such as Merlion Park, Little India, Chinatown, Kampong Glam and Malay Heritage Centre. It was a great tour but pretty short.

After that we departed from Singapore and arrived at Bandung around 5 p.m. Our cute buddy ( Dira ) came to pick us up at the airport.  When we got the dormitory at UPI, I met everybody who joined this program. They gave me such a warm welcoming. Actually, they were leaving to have dinner but they waited for the two of us to finish our shower first as we haven’t showered for 2 days. Then we left to have dinner at Borma together by taking Angkot.

August 8, 2018

         Good morning Bandung! Today we all had to get up early because we had to join the Open Ceremony. Showering in the morning almost killed me, the water was very cold but I think will get used to it soon, hopefully. At the Open Ceremony, we met all of our mentors and got the schedule. After that, we had a campus tour.  The university is very big and beautiful. I was thinking that if I walked around university every day, I would get thin soon. Everybody would be surprised when I got back to Thailand.  

         In the afternoon, we joined in the Campus Orientation. Mr. Vidi discussed advice about cultures, how to behave and information of our schools.

         In the evening, we went to the Borma again by taking Angkot for buying our stuffs and having dinner at the same restaurant. Now the seller is getting good at dealing with our orders.

August 9, 2018

      Today, I went to the school that I will have my practicum, SMP Pelita Nusantara School. I went with my Filipino friend and our buddy (Hamid ) We met my mentor, Ibu Perina. She introduced us to other teachers. They gave me such a warm welcoming. Ibu Perina told us about the information about the school and took us tour around the school. After finished observing, we took grab back to UPI. Hamid toured us around the university again and went to the canteen to have lunch. 

In the afternoon, we all took Angkot to have dinner together at the restaurant called Waroong Kai. Sophie also sang at restaurant.  She has really great voice unlike me. If I sang, it would sound like dying whale hahaha.

August 10, 2018

        Today is school off.  Our plan man, Jason woke us up very early asking us to go jogging.  We saw a group of people were doing Zumba dance so we decided to join them. I had so much dancing even I couldn’t follow the steps of the leader. After that we went to the stadium for jogging. Actually, we had to pay for the entrance but we all didn’t bring our wallets but, the staff was very kind so he allowed us to get in without paying.

        In the evening, Me and my friends went to visit Cihampelas walk, There are lots of things selling here. We had dinner and the walked around together. After that, we went back to our dormitory, taking a rest preparing ourselves for our excursion 
tomorrow.

August 11, 2018

   Today, we had our first excursion at Saung Angklung Udjo. Before watching the Anklung shows, we exchanged our tickets into water. Actually, we could choose between water and ice-cream but we ran out of the water at dormitory so we all chose water. The shows were really amazing. There were lots of kids joined the performances. They are so cute. I bought some souvenirs for my friends and my family.

   Here we go, another day off.  We went to Farm House Susu Lambang with our buddies. For the entrance, we had to pay 25,000 Rps for each person, but later we could exchange our tickets into a cup of delicious milk.  We walked around and took loads of photos. I would say Farm House is  really a good place for Selfie lovers.
