Third week

Today, there was something really nice
happened with me when I was trying to cross the street. I wanted to cross the
stress but I was pretty scared to do it because there were lots of cars passing
by so I just stood there waiting for the street to be empty which is not going
to happen. Fortunately, there was a kind uncle appeared and stopped the cars
for me so I can cross the street. I guessed he probably kept watching me
standing there for a while so decided to help. I really appreciated his help.
He really made my day.
I had to
teach grade 8 today. There are only 5 students in grade 8 so I can remember their
names pretty fast. I taught them about telling personal news, giving
compliments, giving opinion and asking for opinion. The class today was quite
good as the students really participated in the class. By the end of the class,
my mentor gave me some comments so I can take those comments to improve my next
teaching.
In the
evening, my friend’s parents (Addy) invited us all for the dinner at Kumpan
Daun, it was very beautiful restaurant. What I like most about this restaurant
is when you want to order something you gotta hit the bamboo to make a sound so
the waiter can hear it and come to get the orders. Morever, the food there are
very delicious.

I
was up until late last night so this morning I woke up bit late, I had to run
to take Angkot while carrying my bag that weight like 10 tons because of my
laptop and school books. Crossing the street to take Angkot will always be the
most exciting mission that I have to do in each day. Just like yesterday, my
mission’s today is taking Angkot from UPI to Hokben ( a restaurant ) and then
take a school bus to go to school. The mission probably sounds easy for you but
there are loads of cars passing by Hokben. To cross that street, it probably
takes me more than 5 minutes but, don’t worry my story ends good. Remember that
kind uncle who helped me by stopping the cars for me yesterday? He helped me
again today. Indonesian people are the cutest human being ever.
Today I had to teach Grade 12 , I taught them about folktales
by teaching them each important elements
of folktale. Grade 12 were so cute, they reminded me a lot of myself and my friends
when we were in high school.

Today is school off, Eidul Azha the Feast of the
Sacrifice also called the "Festival of Sacrifice" is the second of
two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year (the other being Eid
al-Fitr), and considered the holier of the two. It honors the willingness of
Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command.
Before Abraham sacrificed his son, God provided a male goat to sacrifice
instead. In commemoration of this, an animal is sacrificed and divided into
three parts: one third of the share is given to the poor and needy; another
third is given to relatives, friends and neighbours; and the remaining third is
retained by the family.
I didn’t do much things today, just washing my
clothes and taking a rest.

Today, I went to Lab School to join the Qurban Day
(Festival of Sacrifice). They sacrificed 3 cows and 6 goats. I had never seen
something like this before. It was really great experience.
In the afternoon, I and my friends went to Babakan
Siliwangi and then Teras Cikapundung BBWS Citarum. After that, we went to
Ciwalk for buying foods and snacks.

Today, I
had to teach grade 9 students, it was only 40 minutes. I taught them about what
is ingredient, how to ask for ingredient and how to show the understanding. We
played a bingo game; I asked them to write the names of ingredients on the
boards and the asked them to choose some words and write it on the given paper.
The winner of this game got prize from me, it was instant noodles from
Thailand. The students really enjoyed the game. They asked me to keep playing
but I couldn’t because I had an excursion to Gracia Hot Spring. I finished my class around 1.40 p.m. and
I had to be at UPI at 2 p.m. I would say
this is impossible mission because my school is quite far from UPI. I tried to
book Grab bike on my but I couldn’t. Fortunately, my student from grade 12
helped me to book GoJek instead. It was my first time taking Gojek. I wanted
the driver to ride fastest as he can because everybody is probably waiting for
me and I felt sorry for that but, the traffic was terrible. I think the driver
already tried his best. Finally, I got at UPI and obviously everybody was
waiting for me. I was late like 30 minutes which is a lot. I really felt sorry
for that really appreciated that they still waited for me.
We took the bus that provide by UPI to Gracia Hot Spring. It was very beautiful place. We
had really good time there.

We
didn’t do much things today, our lesson plans. I had to write 6 lesson plans
which are quite hard for me but, I got loads of help from my friends. Even we
just working on our lesson plans but we still had good time together. I am very
lucky that being surrounded by these generous and talented people.
